OAK BAY DEPARTURE POINT
Our Beneteau sail boat usually departs from Oak Bay Marina. this Marina is located on the east side of Victoria, about a a 10 minute drive from downtown. Good bus and taxi service is available if you don't have your own transport . If you do, free and ample parking is available at the Marina.
Our vessel is moored at Slip 37 - whch is at the end of C Dock. C Dock is the first dock you come across as you turn right at the bottom of the boat ramp (iIf you turn left as you come down the ramp you will encounter splashing seals clamoring to be fed).
WHAT TO BRING
We will send you out a list of required and suggested items. Some basic items you should bring are:
- Non-skid, non-marking footwear
- water shoes, or sandals
- hat that won't blow off, sunglasses, & sunblock
- Shorts, swimsuit and warm sweater (dress in layers)
- Rain gear (we can supply if you don't have your own - but let us know)
- Camera and batteries (we can recharge batteries on board)
- Soft compact luggage (2 or even 3 smaller pieces are better than one large piece)
- A BIG Smile
Booking Policy for half day and day Tours:
The earlier you book, the better chance we can accommodate you. Our day and half day tours can usually be booked a few days in advance, and sometimes even on the same day. In the summer months however, don't count on it. A credit card deposit however, will guarantee the date you require. If you cancel your reservation within 24 hours of departure, you will be liable for at least your deposit (see below).
Reservation Policy for overnight Cruises:
A deposit of 25% is required to confirm space on our overnight tours, charters, and sail training courses, with the balance due 45 days prior to the departure date. If you cancel this reservation within 15 to 30 days of departure you will be charged 25% of the tour/charter/course fee. If you cancel less than 15 days there is no refund unless we find another client for the boat/s or course.
Payment: We accept cash, personal cheque, travellers cheques, Master Card, and Visa . We can also take credit card transactions securely by E-mail. Note that all Prices given are in Canadian dollars and are subject to a 12% tax. (HST).
Boat Charter Information Form (for overnight tours only) This form needs to be completed and sent to us with your deposit. This form helps us to anticipate your needs, especially for planning accommoations and meals and for anticipating any possible medical emergencies.
Gift Certificates: We can send you a out a personalized gift certificate for any of our sailing trips and courses. This certificate can be made out to whomever you desire
and personalized as shown above. You could pick up certificates at my office or I could send them to you by E-mail or by post.
Conditions: Gift Certificates can be used any time during the sailing season in the season purchased. They can also be transferred to others or exchanged for another sail or marine activity provided by Blackfish. Note: we also offer kayak tours as well as marine eco-tours (with our 45' Edwardian Launch) from our Oak Bay base.
